When NOT to Call Your Emergency Electrician

Most people know that their security company is responsible for the security of their home or business. However, many people are unsure of when to call their security company versus their emergency electrician. Here are a few guidelines to help you know when to call each:

If you have a power outage:

Call your security company if:

-Your security system is not working and you cannot reset it

Your security cameras are not working

-Your door locks are not working

-Your security system is beeping or making strange noises

Call your emergency electrician if:

-You have no power at all

-Your fuse box is making strange noises or smells

-You see sparks or flames coming from your electrical panel

If your security system is malfunctioning:

Call your security company if:

-Your system is giving false alarms

-Your system is not responding to your code

-Your system is not arming or disarming when it should

-Your cameras are not recording

-Your door locks are not working

-Your security system is beeping or making strange noises

Call your emergency electrician if:

-Your security system is hardwired and the wiring appears to be damaged

-Your security system is making your electrical system act strange (e.g. flickering lights)
